Brief description: This opportunity will give me the time and the space to experiement with the method of slip casting using plaster moulds to create new work in porcelain. My aims are to explore the use of plaster moulds to create sculptural forms in porcelain. Through this experimentation I would like to have the beginnings of a new body of work for exhibition and to create a line of work for sale through my existing galleries with the possibility of launching these lines at the British Craft Trade Show in Harrogate in 2011.

About me:

I would like to take this opportunity to experiement with the method of slip casting using plaster moulds to create new work in porcelain. After being diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis in my wrists and fingers I am determined to carry on my professional practice within ceramics developing and finding new and easier ways of creating work with porcelain. Using the method of slip casting and the creation of moulds my initial ideas are to create forms that can be altered to create new works or larger sculptural forms maybe using multiples.

Through this experimentation I would like to have the beginnings of a body of work for a new exhibition and to create a line of work for sale through my existing galleries with the possibilites of launching these lines at the British Craft Trade Show in Harrogate in 2011.

News:

I will be exhibiting within the Triangle in Manchester (the old Corn Exchange) for the Christmas period selling a new range of procelain and silver jewellery and my sculptural and functional porcelain vessels and vases.

Please come along and say hello.

New year and work to do shows already booked/selected for including British Craft Trade Fair in Harrogate, Scottish Potfest in Perth, Potfest in the Park in Cumbria and Nostalgia Meets Design in Penrith to name a few.
