About me:

I am a recent textiles graduate from Edinburgh College of Art. After graduating in 2012, I moved to Amsterdam where I did an internship in an interior textiles studio. Later I moved back to United Kingdom, this time to Liverpool, where I started working as a self employed designer and maker.

I create textile products for sale and commission. I am still starting up my business, but I hope that soon this will become my full time activity and a source of income. At the moment I make scarves, t-shirts, tea towels, pillowcases, pencil cases, notebooks and cases for phones and laptops. I am planning to broaden my product range, include more techniques and materials. At the moment dyed, embroidered fabrics and patterned papers are used as base materials for my products. However, now I would like to focus on screen printing, as this was my main subject at university and I find it very interesting and beneficial with its wide range of technical possibilities. Having access to screen printing facilities would give me an opportunity to create more elaborate fabrics and add new products to the range.

This residency would enable the growth of my business, as having the right equipment means that high quality products are made faster. I believe that working within the university environment would be a great source of inspiration for me as an artist, because of the library resources available and other artists, students who are creating their work there. Moreover, I am sure that I could inspire and give some useful information for the students by delivering presentations, talks or workshops.
