Presenting an exciting collaboration of the AA2A Artists - Harris Chapman, Leila Houston and Alex Brady, exhibiting work produced whilst residents at De Montfort University, together with high quality, curated artwork by students from the Design Crafts and Fine Art degree programmes.

The range of work hopes to bring a variety of people to the show with painting and drawing, ceramics, video, textiles, photography, projection, sound, furniture, sculpture and installation.

“ The aim of organising this event and exhibition was to bring all communities together and introduce new venues and art which have never been experienced before. Both local practicing artists and selected students from De Montfort University hope to strengthen and support the creative culture present in Leicester. The Summer Art Trail hopes also to provide art students a chance to be involved with excellent art organisations locally as well as the experience of working collectively with over forty fellow artists and creators.
The AA2A/DMU Summer Art Trail also introduces visitors to a new gallery space in the city with the launch of the unusual tiled space at The WTS Gallery, in the basement of the Watch This Space boutique in St Martin’s Square. The other venues that make up the Summer Art Trail are the gallery at LCB Depot, in the heart of the cultural quarter and Unit 1 at The Great Central, housed in an old industrial building on Sussex Street.
It’s a pleasure to say that local independent bike shop Billy’s Bespoke Bikes will be supporting this event and will be offering 10% off vouchers to all visitors. Although the venues are only 5 minutes walk apart, as a keen cyclist I hope to see people cycling between venues!”

The AA2A/DMU Summer Art Trail begins on 29th July with the launch of the WTS Gallery, St Martin’s Square before leading to The LCB Depot, 31 Rutland Street, concluding at Unit 1 at The Great Central, 27-35 Sussex Street, Leicester. The exhibition runs until 14th August.
