Amy has presented her residency work to the fine Art students on our level 3 BTECs year one and two, and discussed her influences, ideas and concepts, and showing examples of development work. The students were able to see how the work progressed and enjoyed this insight, and were able to ask questions.
Ralph has been working with our BTEC first and second years. He lead his own workshops and supported Steve the fine art tutor in workshops also. Ralph has made good contributions to developing printmaking with us and so it has been of great benefit to have him here in residency.
We have been working on a pop-up exhibition over last few weeks. Amy Mountney, one of our AA2A artsists organised the event, and our artists and some of our college staff presented our work to start the project. The college students were then asked to submit work and set up their own exhibition in response. A great deal of interest was raised and the shop owners have asked us to extend the duration of the exhibition. The project has been a great success and hopes to be the begining of an ongoing initiative to colloborate and present artwork in Chelmsford.
We have a new Album of images and more information can be found on our facebook page: https:/
Our artists have delivered an inspiring presentation of their work and practice to the students and are planning a pop-up exhibition along with some of the college staff. Students are volunteering to help with poster design and publicity materials, and the students will work with the artists to present their own exhibition of work to follow on from the AA2A artists and staff exhibition. More details to follow.
Another chance to see ourAA2A artist's work on exhibition, this Wednesday evening 26 June at 6pm while there is public access to the college during the private viewing of the Year One BTEC Art & Media course exhibitions. Access is available by appointment also until Friday afternoon when the shows are taken down.
We have set the date for an end of AA2A residency date for 19 June, exhibiting the work for the rest of the week, and we are currently working on a perminent legacy display to mark the artists' presence here at Chelmsford College.
Our AA2A artists are doing a presentation next Tuesday afternoon 22 January to introduce themselves and their work more widely to the students on the art & design courses at Chelmsford College.
We pleased to welcome our AA2A artists to Chelmsford College. Billie Bond, Sarah Jones, Alexandra Harley and now Doug Selway are our selected artists, and all have exciting plans for working at the college. Sarah and Billie have been making already and the others due in soon.
