The Wimbledon Space has a new exhibition on called The Perfect Nude.

This is the same space the UAL Artists in Residence will be using in April, so the Private View was a good opportunity for everyone from all three colleges, Wimbledon, Chelsea and Camberwell, to meet one another and get a first look at the space.

There have been lots of emails flying around about how they plan to curate the exhibition and identify common threads through their work.

This may be the only time everyone gets together before their own private view in April.

It was well attended and a great opporunity for everyone.

I've uploaded more details and a photo album here

First Meetup

This is the first year of involvement in the AA2A programme for Wimbledon College.  Three artists are taking part: Danny and Laura will be spening a lot of their time in the print room, while Jonathan has already been getting his hands dirty in the sculpture yard.

It is great to have artists with their experience at the college using the facilities.  They are all very friendly and approachable so I expect students will gain a lot just from chatting to them in the studio areas.

By way of introduction, Laura, Danny and Jonathan plan to have a forum in the next fortnight, where students can come and meet the respective artisits in residence and find out more about their work. There is also talk of the artists having open studio visits where students will be invited to visit where the artists work full time in their studio practice.
