'STAGED RETURN' FOR NEXT YEAR'S HOST UNIS
There's no better year for Unis to rejoin AA2A - not only are we offering a £200 'early bird' discount to new hosts, but they'll have the flexibility to offer between 0 and 6 placements in this ‘Staged return’ year (we go back to the standard four places the following year).
As part of the 'Employability' package, students and graduates from host Unis can now stream our new digital resources, which include eight 45 min videos - three on self-employment and five employability themed talks featuring AA2A Creatives.

Since our last newsletter we’ve now completed our suite of eight videos for students and graduates at our host institutions. We've now finished the last in our self-employment series, covering 'Registration, tax, NI and keeping records' as well as the last two employability themed videos - 'Managing a Portfolio Career' and 'Copyright and Licensing',each featuring three artists and designer-makers talking about making a living from their practice. We've started including guest appearances from professionals from support organisations such as DACS (Design & Artists Copyright Society) which is a feature we'll continue when updating videos.

AA2A ENGAGE VIDEO REVIEWS
We recently offered another paid opportunity to our alumni group (AA2A Engage) this time to review our employability videos. We'd like to thank everyone who took part. We had much thoughtful feedback on content and aspects of production, which will help us greatly to improve our next versions. We've been on a steep learning curve to produce these videos during 'lockdown' and could not have done it 'in-house' without support. Our particular thanks to Tom Chimiak, AA2A Creative and videographer who helped us learn how to get the most from our video editing software.

'WHERE ARE THEY NOW...'
Today we're highlighting the work of Kevin Hunt, one of the many artists who've kept in touch with us through our AA2A Engage group. He's recently helped us by reviewing our new employability videos, commenting... "What an empowering video. It's clear, slowly paced and explains basic terms such as sole trader and freelance. I think many of my students have real anxieties around the idea of graduating and not having a steady income. Graduates often don’t quite understand how to make it happen for themselves. This video will really help with that."

Kevin's an independent curator and lecturer with a sculptural practice. He was on an AA2A scheme at Liverpool Hope Uni 11 years ago. Former director of The Royal Standard artists’ studios, in 2014 he co-curated 'Model', an experimental research platform for artist-led activity and was education artist in residence at Liverpool Biennial. In 2017-18 he organised 'fs Liverpool', a self-organised, nomadic free school for artists. He produced the ARTIST-LED HOT 100 (volume ii), a long-list of emerging artist groups, curatorial initiatives, content publishers and independent exhibiting spaces. Kevin has exhibited nationally and internationally with recent projects including, 'Beweme', a permanent architectural intervention in the Netherlands and 'face-ade', a large scale public artwork in Wales.

AA2A STUDENT WEBPAGES
Last year we increased the number of professional web profiles on AA2A's website for students from our host unis. They were able to document their work, blog, and promote exhibitions and events in preparation for graduation. It's been great to see them posting their work alongside our AA2A Creatives and we've been selecting images to post as our ' Pic of the week' on our social media from their image albums.
