Project summary:

I wish to further develop printed textiles and surface pattern. These techniques will be utilised to create a collection of textiles for fashion and interior, including glass and ceramics. The surfaces should be varied, embellished and embriodered. I wish to create a unique bespoke range. I hope that working in the PCA will enable me to realise my textile ambitions of combining my fine art textiles, print and weave.

I want to share ideas, learn from others and benefit from the equipment and technologies to achieve my goal. To syncronise past and present with traditional one off screen print, woven and up to date CAD. I have used PC’s all my teaching career and always ached for a MAC. I now have one but the lack of a scanner and quality printer is holding me back.  I will need to understand more programs and would appreciate help and encouragement to fully utilise it’s potential.

My experience at PCA has shown that I will succeed by learning how to use and navigate aspects of ADOBE photoshop; to be able to present my ideas in an exciting and tactile way and to create a collection, which is unique, yet can be produced economically. I have always believed in William Morris’ principles and ideology. I want to create a space where we want to relax yet feel invigorated and restored. A range of craft inspired pieces, which can be explored, enjoyed and used daily.
