Project summary:

Having worked as an Commercial Interior Designer for many years, I returned to University and for the last 7 years have worked with fused glass.  I carry out architectural commissions and work mainly as a community artist, promoting wellbeing. I believe passionately in the therapeutic benefits of the creative experience and its use as a force for good in the betterment of our lives

Two years ago I achieved a lifelong ambition to live by the sea and now daily experience huge skies, disappearing horizons and surging seas. It has provided me with the opportunity to stand back and reconsider the direction my work is taking by creatively exploring the environment that I now live in.  The sea fascinates and exhilarates me!!!

My work has been exhibited at the CAA Gallery and the Gallery at Redchurch Street, London, plus Broadfield House Glass Museum, the International Festival of Glass, the Ruskin Centre and the Red House Cone, all in the Glass Quarter at Stourbridge. I also won the Aquacut Competition in 2013.

I love working with glass as it enables me to combine intuitive, creative impulses with rigid, technical disciplines.  Fused glass is essentially a 2-dimensional material which I am increasingly attempting to make 3-dimensional by working on both sides of the glass and using stacking techniques.

I am now exploring the possibilities of printing onto glass and combining it with printed paper pieces.  This is why i was so delighted to win an AA2A residency at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge as they have the most amazing print workshops so that I can continue this exploration.
