Project summary:

Responding to sites of architectural interest, I explore the sensory experience of architecture through drawing.

Recent enquiry has been focused on architectural materials, questioning what the sensory experiences of drawing and architecture may reveal about a place. Working employs a repetitive drawing approach through the duality of touch in both reception and expression, examining how translucent paper surfaces and marks interact with light, often working with video.

Recent works comprise drawings and installations of drawings on translucent papers that are activated by light.

The AA2A programme provides a valuable period of research in which to develop my practice and the opportunity to focus my work with access to facilities in a university setting that enable testing and refinement of ideas.

I intend to produce and present a new body of work by the end of the residency.
