Being a Master Glass Artist it is important to me to continually expand and diversify my knowledge, to allow alternative art forms to develop my art practice, delving deeper into application processes and form to communicate meaning and story telling through art.
I would like to develop my knowledge of the Vitreography print process. Vitreography is an etching technique in brief where you engrave glass plate, ink the plate and run paper prints from the plate. It’s an incredibly specialised technique which gives the affects of etching highlighting the glass marks, but with the cleanliness of screen-printing as there is no colour transfer from the glass plate, thus allowing for super vivid colour saturation. There are no facilities in the south of England offering the Vitreography technique. Bringing Vitreography to City College would make a unique collaborative practice.
