I am a multi-disciplinary creative practitioner/performance maker, engaged in both practical and research based explorations through various sonic encounters. The practice I am currently engaged in could best be described as ‘headphone based one to one audio experiences’.
During the recent pandemic I have been experimenting with both physical and remote variations of these encounters, noting the differences/challenges that both pre and post covid sharings brought about and also how my role as (performer) within each piece was becoming less prominent, less important; leaning more toward becoming a participant within my own work.
I wish to further explore and extend my ongoing practice through the creation a new piece of sound work. I will be paying particular attention to both my literal and artistic positioning and examining how this might impact the subsequent and final shared experience.
As an important part of my practice, I have always encouraged feedback whenever possible. It is fascinating how each participant has both a distinct reaction and interpretation.
Finding myself being situated within Blackpool School of Arts University Centre will hopefully allow some form of engagement with willing and interested students/participants who may wish to act as ‘listeners’ and offer feedback to assist in measuring the ongoing development of this proposal.
Finally, I would enjoy the opportunity to share my experiences as an artist. Describing and demonstrating how all possibilities, all forms, all ways to express oneself are always open and available regardless of where or how one might begin ones creative life.
