With access to high-quality printmaking facilities thanks to the aa2a scheme, I wish to develop a new body of work based on a dialogue between painting and printmaking, using a variety of traditional and more experimental techniques combined with collage and hand-colouring.
The aa2a residency will also enable me to research and master new printmaking techniques and work on a variety of scales and supports, exploring new subject matters. In the past I have specialised in etchings. I intend to move away from multiples and concentrate on monoprints, working in series of unique works and variations.
I also look forward to interacting with students at the University and to potential teaching or presenting opportunities.
As for subject matter, I have recently moved away from domesticity represented by furniture and everyday objects. I am turning my attention to the outside, especially buildings, and life in the city.
