I am an artist working with photographic processes, drawings and installation. My work explores notions of memory and imagination through a poetic approach to stillness and movement. Using photographic processes, drawings and actions in space, I strive to bring the past and the present together, creating new narratives with the objects and spaces encountered whilst questioning the very nature of memory. The practical process of making is very important in my practice, whether using the darkroom, drawing or action. This, alongside playing with the scale of the space and the materials, leads and informs the majority of the thinking process.
The AA2A scheme at New Buckinghamshire University would enable me to research whether experimental techniques and ideas would come together with my existing practice, namely experimenting with plant extracted developers for a more sustainable darkroom practice, researching the material qualities of different types of papers and exploring new possibilities for installation.
