Proposal for AA2A
The work will aim to celebrate a life through personal possessions that consider ways in which they can be seen to tell stories, reveal journeys and confirm memories.
I will work with collections of objects and artefacts that reflect a history and identity. These themes will be the springboard for extensive experimentation and development.
The work will be driven by experimentation, testing and sampling and this will inform the development of ideas and final outcomes. Working within the print department will allow experimentation of silk screen techniques and the development of ideas using combinations of processes and materials. I will explore combinations of drawn, wire and photographic images. Working on surfaces before printing and manipulating surfaces after the printing process. Exploring layering techniques alongside contrast of surface and scale. The large screen bed in the department will also enable me to experiment on a larger scale.
I aim to work with a diverse range of new and collected contrasting materials. Experimenting with the finest of cotton organza and heavy wool blankets., the finest of tissues with the lovely fabriano papers.
I look forward to working alongside other practitioners and students that will allow for the interaction of ideas and sharing of skills. I aim to develop new thinking, push personal boundaries that will inform a new body of work.
