Engage Artist

Sabina Ray Stumberger

Year:
2014-15
Project summary:

I am a graduate of Royal College of Art, London with an MA RCA in Glass, and University of Wolverhampton with a BA Honours (First Class) in Sculpture, Glass and 3D design. Prior to pursuing my career in art I studied Ethnology (BSc) and Documentary Film (MFS) in the native Slovenia.

Main focus of my work are large-scale installation works that sit at the intersection of many disciplines. While my work always has its core in the investigation of glass materiality, my art practice reaches across the disciplines of installation art, moving image, sound and glass sculpture. The work intends to transform urban places and galleries into surprising, soulful and engaging artworks. I am interested in creating the experience of spaces that are emotionally real but not always physical.

I tend to work in series where one artwork informs another of which moving image, photography and writing are an important part.
