Project summary:

I am a printmaker specialising in relief methods such as wood engraving and linocut. Through my membership of ArtLab I took part in a workshop on wood engraving led by Anne Desmet and found a real affinity with the technique. My recent prints combine the observed with the imaginary. I am interested in taking an architectural motif (for example a tower or treehouse) and placing it within different landscapes and environmental conditions which explore the emotional impact of isolation and seclusion. These are ideas which I would like to explore further. During the AA2A residency I also hope to learn how to make lithographs as I would enjoy the opportunity to draw directly as a bit of a break from the intensity of small scale engraving.
