Previous AA2A Artist

Rhoda Webb

Year:
2010-11
Location:
East Anglia
Project summary:

My career as an artist has included residencies, workshops for artists and members of the community and commissions for limited-edition photographs. I also taught photography to undergraduate and postgraduate students for a number of years.

In recent years, I have mainly worked in east London where I completed a number of large-scale public art commissions and have had a number of exhibitions.

Lately, I have become very interested in using analogue photographic techniques – pinhole photography, toning, hand tinting and using photo emulsion on watercolour paper and fabric.

I enjoy exploring the imperfections that some of these ways of working bring – and the meaning that it gives to my work. I am also interested in combining photography and sculpture, taking a more tactile approach to the media - using the photograph as object rather than just image.
