Raven Kaliana, freelance puppet maker, puppeteer, and workshop leader, also directs puppet-based plays and films for Puppet (R)Evolution.  In 2010, her company was awarded an artistic residency at Battersea Arts Centre through the Puppet Centre Trust.  She produced Hooray for Hollywood, a puppet play concerning human trafficking, which toured to theatres and festivals in France, Poland and the UK.  The film adaptation of Hooray for Hollywood, produced through Outspiral has screened in Switzerland,  Kazakhstan, Denmark, Israel, Japan, the UK, and America. Presentations of the film have included events at United Nations in Geneva, Commission on the Status of Women in New York, London Assembly, Oxford University, New York University, and University of Puerto Rico, and it aired on Danish national television.  She co-produced and directed Understanding Post-Traumatic Stress, a short film, and is producing a new play and workshop project, Love vs Trauma with the support of Little Angel Theatre.  Her work has been included in documentaries, including No Strings Attached, Stories of Healing, and a new documentary in development. She's been interviewed in the Guardian, New York Times, and on BBC Woman's Hour.  She holds an MA in Advanced Theatre Practice from Royal Central School of Speech & Drama.  She first fell in love with the art of puppetry working at Folkmanis Puppets.
