I got the a-n Professional Development Bursary - Woohoo

Rachel Laycock 8 years ago

I recieved the a-n busary to continue my development with  'Cracks Of Love'. I will continue developing skills in lampworking and my aim is to be able to apply these skills to my designs and learn to write with glass.  Like any skill it takes time to grasp fully and at present I feel quite frustrated at the time it takes to make one word.

I will also work with Balin Design to develop skills with 3D modelling programs. Learning to turn my sketches into 3D models so I can then apply this to 3D printing, laser cutting and waterjet cutting.

Using my CAD sketches would lead to the next phase of development with FabLad in Sunderland to experiment and push my designs using the 3D printing equipment and laser cutter.  Learning these skills at FabLab will allow me to work with this equipment on my own at Sunderland University.
