In my work, I investigate myriad of possibilities by combining text and image in carefully balanced compositions. This integration is a significant element in my work.

I am interested in the interplay of positive and negative spaces and employ them in compositional arrangements either in colour or black and white. I also explore a complex network of themes around Africa's relationship with the West.

I paint with oils, watercolour and acrylics on various supports. It is my aim to be able to produce a body of work on this residency, meet and interact with other artists and students, be of some benefit to students and ideally have a show at the end of the residency.

This opportunity will help me regain my focus and provide me with space and time to create new work and experiment on new ideas. I would like to continue exploring the use of text and image in my paintings.
