In my practice I work across gallery, education and community settings, both in a solo and collaborative context. I am interested in the discourse between textiles and film and how one process can translate into the other, blurring the relationship between tactile and filmic space. Themes of domesticity, labour and care are explored alongside an on-going investigation into analogue technologies.
Currently on maternity leave, AA2A will provide me with new skills and hands on making space that will bring creative energy and momentum for my return to the studio in April 2023. The skills will give me more confidence in my solo practice and release a new language and way of making. I will spend this time focusing on creative writing, which I have been pursuing through journaling, and ways of visualising this within my textile and film work. I anticipate utilisiing textiles, photography and screenprinting workshops, exploring layering and collage through screenprinting, photograms and pattern cutting.
