Project summary:

On the AA2A programme at Bradford School of Art, I want to make use of the print room – particularly the screenprinting facilities - in order to make a body of new paintings incorporating screenprint.    My work plays with ideas of time, artistic hierarchy and the value of art, and by bringing the element of screenprint into my practice, want to be able to create tension between the fast printing process, and the slower, meticulous painting process.
Since leaving university in 2015, I have not had access to the level of faciliites offered at Bradford School. The AA2A programme offers the opportunity to develop my practice with confidence, support and without financial burden.  At this time, this programme offers a step change in my career and my arts practice, which would be invaluable.

Alongside creating a new body of paintings, I would like to make use of the other printing faciliites offered to make some accompanying works on paper.  I have always enjoyed curating shows, and working closely with students in workshops and talks, and would like to use the AA2A scheme to continue this – possibly working with students to curate a group show of their work either onsite or offsite elsewhere.
