Figure paintings

This series of figure paintings focuses on the distortion of the human form via a painterly manner. Whilst the work is open to interpretation, inspiration was found through war wounds, both seen and unseen, and the effect they have upon the victim. This has progressed into changing the appearances of ordinary people into something else and new paths of exploration have been found by removing parts of the figure all together. Some of the figures lack any semblance of a background or setting, this brings forth a sense of timelessness - that the figure has been placed outside of our own reality.
