Louise Palfreyman writes short fiction and her work has been published in a variety of journals and anthologies, including Best British Short Stories.

She is a Room 204 emerging writer with Writing West Midlands and was recently digital writer-in-residence at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists.

‘My time at the RBSA gave me valuable experience of working with a Permanent Collection and Archive, researching individual works, responding to exhibitions, and interviewing artists.’

Louise will be collecting narratives and art work from across the region to go forward to an online site and printed journal and has launched the Black Country Arts Foundry.

She is hoping to write creative responses to taught modules within the Humanities and Arts Faculties during her time on AA2A and also intends to work closely with the City Archive.

Having delivered workshops at university careers shows across the Midlands, she is also planning sessions with students at the University of Wolverhampton on short fiction, self-editing, blogging and social media for freelancers, and writing as an artist.

Her goal is to launch a journal and present a showcase of students’ work at the annual ArtsFest, offering valuable professional experience and a creative response to contemporary issues and the heritage of the area.
