Previous AA2A Artist

Liz Harrington

Year:
2019-20
Project summary:

I am a photographic artist and work primarily with analogue, alternative processes and camera-less techniques. I am interested in the transient nature of environments and traces of the past, finding beauty in the often unseen or overlooked. Since 2017 I have been photographing trees in Letchworth, the world’s first garden city, using expired 35mm and medium format film and have particularly focused on when the leaves are falling and the trees are dormant. Through AA2A I plan to experiment with ideas – such as printing on out of date photographic paper, using liquid emulsion and alternative processes on different papers and surfaces, including wood and tree bark. I also hope to enhance my skills in photopolymer etching and explore how the work could be presented in book form.
