This is the 6th from a suite of 7 prints in response to Michelangelo's poetry.  I used the same gillographic method (aluminium plate lithograph heavily inked and then etched in ferric chloride) for this as for the others. I took the image from a 16th century statue of a young man, putatively by Michelangelo. The attribution of the statute to Michelangleo is uncertain.  The image is reversed, not because I'm a printmaker, but because I wished to transform the visual context slightly.  My method of creating these images/plate bases itself on a series of transformations: drawing -- lithograph -- etched plate -- image on paper.
