Project summary:

My work is generally conposed of mutiples of  waste materials  suggesting ideas that I sculpt into a whole. Pieces might be present in the studio for a long while before they link with others to from the artwork. I cast and fuse waste glass of all kinds combined with waste  metal and found objects. My backgound is Alternative Fine art printmaking and alternative photography both of which I still combine with glass. I rarely set out with a fixed idea of how a piece of artwork should turn out as the way the glass moves in the kiln and happenstances in the making directs the work. However for this project I started out with the idea of  screen printing glass powder text without any binder , creating an openwork lace of glass. I thought I might be able to support it over a mould so I fused and slumped it in one go.
