I am a painter and printmaker living and working in Bradford; the city and its hinterland is the subject of most of my work.  I see myself as working within the English landscape tradition; my interest is in spatial politics, the political and psychological relationship between people and the places they live in. My work is always about places, real, imagined or a mixture of the two.

In the past I have produced work aiming to question conventional ideas about the aesthetics of cities.

Now, having given up full time work, I am keen to re-establish my practice and have begun to produce work more closely focussed upon the street where I live and its residents.  Through investigation of its physical and social history, I want to celebrate the experience of making a place in which to live together.
