I graduated with a Masters in Contemporary Art from Plymouth University last Summer. My practice is research-led with excavated traces interwoven into experimental, creative processes. Memory, gender and the archive are recurring themes, with a desire to look beyond the surface and uncover forgotten or invisible histories of people and place. I aim to fold the past with the present to create a junction between personal recollection and social history, in order to produce an apposite presentation of narratives.
Contemporary modes of representation attempt to create a distinct visual language, in a dialogue between the dualities of analogue and digital, with a multi-medial approach that includes moving image, audio and print. My site-specific installations have been presented in some unusual spaces, including a lighthouse, telephone box and slaughterhouse, with works that hopefully inform and delight in equal measure.
During my AA2A residency I plan to develop a unique process of rastering into clear perspex, considering content, scale and presentation.
