Final Project

These works are inspired by Japanese aesthetics, incorporating the exquisite beauty of flowers, creating a tension between artificial packaging and manmade objects.

The installation features two screens with washi paper bleeds of vibrant colours and hidden cut-outs of Chrysanthemums in black glossed frames. Without  back light the floral cut outs merge into the abstract bleeds, only when placed in front of ambient daylight from a window they are revealed.

The accompanying Ikebana style sculpture incorporates natural seedheads contrasted against artificial packaging on a black glossed easel.
