Rethink!!!

I had a couple of draft blog posts that I was trying to finish, all of which are now redundant as I cannot at the moment finish the work I had started. However, I have decided to post about the work I am doing in self-isolation instead, creating my own artist residency.

Now I am stuck in my garden studio, I'm looking at playing with some more familair processes that I can play with as I have the necessary materials. I'm also collaborating with a few other artist to see what we can create together.

First up I'm joining in on @williamlawrencearnold Living Spaces reboot, creating 7 day long silver gelatin paper exposures. I am setting up three camera in different spaces, and I will cycle through the cameras and locations during my (probable) 12 week isolation.

Camera 1

SpeedGraphig Model FP

My beautiful 5x4 speed Graphic Model FP.

Camera 2

Polaroid Colorpack III

Polaroid Colorpack III, required a bit of modification (see the gallery)

Camera 3

Holga 120N

So, the camera is loaded with black & white paper and left open insitu for 7 days to capture an image whichcannot be retained on the paper for much longer than the time it takes to scan the paper. The image is a quirk of silver gelatin paper, in that it will create a temporary image when exposed for long periods of time but cannot be developed or fixed as this will instantly destroy the image. It can be scanned of photographed and this is the only way to really reserve the images.

I will post the results as they apprear over the nect few weeks.
