Previous AA2A Artist

Hannah Leighton-Boyce

Year:
2013-14
Project summary:

I'm a visual artist based in Manchester, I studied at Winchester School of Art, Tokyo Zokei University and completed my MA at Manchester School of Art in 2012. At the centre of my work is an enquiry into the way we experience time and place. Notions of presence, absence and liminality are central to this and, through which, I explore of how to make ‘visible’ those ‘moments’ through the play between ideas, materiality and process.

I plan to use my time on the AA2A scheme and access to the facilities at MMU to help develop two works. Firsty, experimenting with ways to document a collection of objects that I found within the walls of Salts Mill whilst developing my work for ‘Cloth and Memory {2}. Secondly, using the facilities to a realise a work in response to 'God's Bridge' for an exhibtion in April 2014 at the Bowes Museum.
