Typographia, is a collaborative art installation where artists re-visit and re-invigorate a discontinued technology: the monotype print machine. The mechanistic and print processes are interpreted using live performance, analogue and digital projection with sound revealing hidden, unvisited possibilities to the audience. The intention is to evoke the ingenuity and complexity of the automated ‘turn of the 20th century’ printing machine using new media.
