Project summary:

For this AA2A Residency I’ll be bringing together ideas, concepts and practices around deep listening, voice and vibration, which I am currently exploring in my Arts Council England ’Developing Your Creative Practice’ project. I’ll be undertaking further research into the composition and creation of an immersive and experiential audio visual sound bath, based on the vibrational tones transmitted when women discuss their experience of the menopause, and will also be undertaking a period of valuable development work into the visual, moving image side of this longer term project. This will also draw upon my own experiences of the menopause, exploring and questioning the slow rate of advancement of gender equality, alongside ideas of collective identity, trauma, identity and healing, particularly through our connection to water, to create an installation which be used as a vehicle for inviting perspectives around collective healing, which is very much needed at this time.
