I am an Activist Artist. I focus mainly in Photography but also have skills in Design. My work is typically based around injustices in the world and I work very closely with people in order to visually tell stories in a very raw, powerful and dynamic form. I don’t shy away from the sensitive subjects. I am a social terrorist.
The project I wishes to undertake is to research and create a book and images based around children of alcoholics. The theme will aim to be unprecedented in comparison to previously seen alcohol projects with the object that discloses the repercussions that alcohol abuse can cause.
The facilities I intend on using are the dark room and photography studio. I want to try analogue and digital and playing with shooting a wide range of lenses and lighting to improve my skills. I find it a great opportunity to try Dystopian Futuristic photography too which is something I have never done before.
I will use photoshop for more graphic editing work and play with the layout of images and make them more textured by working with the Guildford Street Press department. Here I will learn more editorial design and learn new printing skills like Risograph, Screen Printing and Textile Printing. I also want to improve on my book design skills and learning how to use Indesign better by using typography in a more creative way and generally understanding the programme.
Eventually, I want to teach photography, so want to build confidence in speaking out and teaching which I’m hoping to gain some experience in.
