Project summary:

I investigate memory and its different genre, subjective, personal and forgotten narratives through nineteenth century photographic techniques. I am intrigued by the traces people leave behind. The paths they weave through time and the legacies attached to them.

I have been experimenting with converting digital photographs into contact negatives to create handcrafted cyanotypes. Then toning the cyanotypes opening up a dialogue between photography, painting and etching. I am engaged by how this multi-layered process resonates with memory and all its subtleties.

Access to Coventry University’s facilities would enable me to further develop my work with cyanotypes. I am keen to explore different alternative methods as well as the photo intaglio process, and work in a larger scale.

My aim in participating in this AA2A scheme would be to acquire new skills and techniques, develop my network and create a new body of work, which I would plan to exhibit.
