Project summary:

Specialising in contemporary painting, interested in the space surrounding our existence. A focus on a craftsmanship skill in figurative work with application to contemporary themes and ideas.

I graduated from Fine Art at Plymouth University two years ago and I have since completed a 12 month graduate residency at Ocean Studios Plymouth. These residencies have allowed to me to continue painting after education giving the space, workshops and tools to develop. Whilst at Ocean Studios I held a duo show with a fellow graduate focused on site specific elements of the exhibiting space.

I have exhibited in various art venues around the city and local area, these include the Council House, Ocean Studios and Studio 102. More than simply contributing work to shows, I have helped to create shows with other artists - currently myself and the other plymouth AA2A artists are producing a show in an old disused slaughterhouse close to the instituition.

From the AA2A this year I hope to achieve a series of work that demonstrates a level of skill within painting while defining the theory behind. The paintings will generally focus on the human body the theory will help to define humanities presence on earth.
