‘Window’ Series

Over the past year, I’ve created a series of small scale ‘window’ artworks. The artworks are made from a combination of photography, sculpture and ceramics. For each piece I handmake an ultra-thin lightbox, on which a 1:1 scale photograph of a window is overlayed. Each lightbox is made from building materials typically used to make household windows.

My ‘window’ series focuses on the fragile membranes that exist between our homes and the outside world, spaces within the home where the public, exterior world seeps in, for example: the glass in our windows or the liquid crystal in our laptop screens. These different kinds of windows permeate our living spaces, and have become a focal point in our pandemic world for framing how we look out and how others look in.
