My practice involves creating assemblages which come together using repeated objects, light or images and from this a looped structure arises from within the installation. The installations contemplate how ideas materialise, whether concept alone is enough to be a material and whether the physical manifestation is fully presentative of the concept. Previous iterations of the installation become starting points for the next assemblage, questioning where the start and the end of each artwork is.
Whilst on the AA2A scheme, I will be exploring the role of structure and light within installation using a variety of material including metal, toy modelling pieces and projections to create structures which seek to arrange and disguise meaning and to present work which has a basis in physics and philosophy. I will spend time researching and exploring Physics, Photography and writing to inform the outcomes, of sculpture and writing, which I will be looking to share with students, staff and the wider public.
Working within the university will provide me with time to research academic ideas, generate artworks using the facilities at the University of Loughborough and use research as practice by creating written pieces to complement to my practice. It will create time to share ideas about practice with staff and students and the wider publlc.
