A Spring Update

It’s officially spring (meteorologically that is), how the academic year is flying by!

It’s brilliant to have seen so much activity across the country, especially as part of organised events with students. In February AA2A artists took part in Wolverhampton’s Creative Futures event, Anglia Ruskin’s artists did an update talk and Lizzie Jordan did a talk at Staffordshire Uni last week. Our Creatives at Chester will be part of an AA2A exhibition in March.

Great to see the other projects you’re involved in Alice Walter at Wolverhampton for their collage workshop and to Estelle Woolley at Chester for the ‘Fashion on the Rows’ community project.

The first of our Student Rep challenges was won by Hannah Quill at Birmingham City University. Well done for building such a comprehensive professional profile, especially whilst still studying for a BA in Fine Art.

We had a growing turnout of students, graduates and artists on the second in our national self-employment seminar programme, and places are booking up quickly for the next dates. Our March session focuses on using social media and websites for sales and promotion and, as usual, will feature a creative practitioner to share their experience.

Keep uploading images and blogs of your work, we love seeing what you produce and sharing it with colleges across the country to ensure it’s seen by as many students and artists as possible.

All the best for now
Sally (AA2A National Coordinator)
