Interesting statistics from the Artists' evaluation
With a return rate of 96% AA2A Artists' evaluation forms give accurate and detailed information which is summarised and used help us and the host institutions to improve schemes. Below are some of the national statistics for 2021-22 (our last full year of schemes).
- Artists rated the importance of AA2A nationally at 9 out of 10
- 98% said they would recommend AA2A to others
- 67% rated the facilities offered by institutions as excellent and 29% as 'good'
- 67% used facilities or equipment that was new to them
- 71% used the support areas offered, (library, lectures, IT, etc)
- 19% were recent graduates (graduating 2019-2021)
- 12% had been an artist for 1-3 years, 50% for 3-10 yrs, 38% for more than 10 yrs
- 72% of artists were female, 26% were male and 2% non-binary
- 81% were self-employed
- 33% declared as having a disability
- 11% were BAME artists
- Artists used an average of 106 hours access time (of the minimum 100 hours offered)
- They travelled an average of 34 miles to their AA2A institution
- The AA2A scheme at University of Central Lancashire was rated highest by their artists
- Buckinghamshire New University were runners up
