The experiments in map making carried out so far have been concerned with walks already undertaken. These experiments are helping me to sort out different approaches I may take with map making ideas. So far my work at Worcester has focussed on learning new skills using Photoshop and silk screening techniques not available to me in my studio.I also have had the opportunity of introducing myself to the geology department and have become very interested in their geo park project. This contact is also helping me to carry out background research into the clay used in the pottery industry which is a project in which I also want to incorporate maps. I see my time at Worcester being invaluable as it will enable me to gain new skills and gives me access to valuable research resources.
