Project summary:

“Dream in a box” is a series of work which developed at a time of personal reflection which led me to focus on my dreams and aspirations. It is all too easy to forget our dreams and aspirations and become settled in a life and routine where the dreams we once had are pushed aside. The boxes I create allow me to refocus on these aspirations and act as a reminder. The dream is not told in words, purely visuals so that the viewers may be able to relate to them on a personal level. The work is created in boxes to allow anonimity to some personal dreams. My work is created using painting, drawing and printmaking techniques combined with textiles such as emboidery and knitting. I have recently learnt paper engineering/pop up techniques which I have developed into textiles. Some of the work incorporates textiles pop up techniques in them.
