Project summary:

The AA2A scheme will allow me to explore my interests in expressing organic forms through the use of a mixtue of clays and techniques. Part of my experiments will be the transference of traditional designs and styles to ones within modern forms. In particular I am interested in low-relief plaques, using the substantial quiality of terracotta clay, to light-weight paper-clay and then a more delicate product in moulded semi-porcelain slip. I am looking at the production of distinctive, original designs and styles repeated with the use of moulds, but still each maintaining their uniqueness by using individual colour and decoration.

The AA2A scheme will give me the opportunity to work within a well equipped studio. The college has a comprehensive reference library, which will be invaluable for research and also has very experienced staff who are able to advise and guide me in other areas where I may be inexperienced, such as 'marketing', 'advertising', 'costing', 'product display', 'attending shows', 'commision setting', etc.

I see this opportunity as a very special experience which will lay down strong foundations for my future, enabling me to use every facility I can to delvelop and move forward creatively.
