Project summary:

I have developed my Jewellery practice over the last ten years since graduating in 1998. I am interested in different materials and colour, and am currently developing ways in which I can make my manufacturing process more efficient in order to create a new body of work that allows me to investigate new technologies and processes.

Most of the work I make is colourful and distinctive in the use of layered acrylics combined with precious metals. More recently I have become interested in using found objects, multiples and collections within my work.

I teach and run workshops and have been involved in a range of community projects and initiatives. I run an extensive workshop programme to all ages alongside my practice from my studio at Radiant Works in Huddersfield.

The AA2A project will allow me to test possibilities for new work, - objects, Jewellery, and interior pieces. It is my aim to find ways to test manufacturing processes to explore the potential of my work and make it more efficient. I intend to use laser cutting on a range of materials, including acrylic, paper and felt. I hope to increase my CAD abilities with the potential to experiment with rapid prototyping technology, which I feel offers potential for the production of small-scale items such as Jewellery.
