Previous AA2A Artist

Project summary:

The AA2A scheme provided me with dedicated space and time frame to focus on my practice. It has introduced me to Lithography and it has opened networks with other artists and as a result I am collaborating with two artist printmakers on a group exhibition titled 'Episodic Realities' at The Lancaster Environment Centre, Lancaster University, in 2007. As part of AA2A I qualify for membership of 'Artlab', based at UCLAN which meets weekly and offers artist printmakers the use of studio facilities and technical support. Artlab also provides a showcase for work through regular exhibitions. While on AA2A I also produced work for the 6th Annual University Print Society Postcard Exchange, organised by Iowa University, USA and exchanged work with 12 American artists. Also the monotype 'Plant Forms' has been selected for the Sefton Open Exhibition of Contemporary Mixed Media Art at The Atkinson Gallery, Southport.

The AA2A scheme has been invaluable, generating new ideas and opportunities for professional development. I highly recommend the AA2A scheme to artists interested in furthering their practice.
