I have been exploring this collection of geographical slides in the Archive at Vernon Street Library at Leeds College of Art and Design, and have used it as the starting point for much of the work I have been making whilst on the AA2A programme. The slides are quite old and some are considerably damaged. Valleys, Lakes, Riverbanks, Waterfalls, Cliffs, and Beaches is series of dual images have been composed as part of my research for the production of a slide film. Each image has been made by overlaying one colour and one black and white slide. Though I tried to carefully select the slides to complement each other the most interesting results have been produced by chance, producing haunting and mysterious fictional landscapes.
