Brief description: paintings are normally acrylic underpaintings with oil and wax medium overlays. They swing between auto-biographical nudes and the landscape, but the feeling is the same. a sense of loneliness alongside hope. My photography explores similar themes, seeing beauty in decay. warmth in the cold, hope in the midst of dispair

About me:

I am a fine artist working in painting, photography and printing. I am concerned with the layering of experiences through photgraphy and painting. I dont have a huge agenda other than to touch peoples hearts. That sense that we are not alone but share a common experience called 'life' with its joys and sadnessees. To re-present the common place out of context and suggest beauty can be found in teh strangest and most unexpected places. Beauty - is that an ok to talk about? not a fleeting, decorative beauty but one that is often harsh and challenging yet lifts the spirits.

I am currently making a digital instalation for Coastival - a huge arts event in Scarborough. It will be in St Martins Cof E, Scarborough. I will also be exhibiting at St James Community Arts Centre, Seamer Road, Scarborough. 15-17th February. 10-30
