Through the range of different applications for my design work from freelance digital print design, working as a designer maker for interior products and print making, the influences for my work are diverse. Taking inspiration from every day objects to catwalk shows I am always on the look out for interesting patterns and textures to inform my work.
Though my practice working with surface pattern the strengths, weaknesses and relationships between traditional screen printing and digital printing is something I would like to explore further. I currently work with both processes separately and plan to use this opportunity to combine my knowledge and influences, exploring new ways of working using the different processes collaboratively.
I have a particular interest in applied textile design and experience working with lighting. During the residency I would like develop experimental samples for use in bespoke lighting applications to form the basis of an exhibition of new work. I would also like to generate a broader range of samples and ideas for combining the different processes for use in future collections.
