About me:
Nick Davies is an artist and riso-printer based in Exeter, Devon.
He is a multi-disciplinary artist and makes work that is socially and ecologically (in it's broadest sense) orientated. Past work has included paintings about the DIY-renovation culture using Smash and magnolia paint, a fictional society based around the game Tetris using only cardboard and gloss paint, and the translation of a book by Roland Barthes into SMS language.
He is based at the Exeter Phoenix and from there undertakes his own practice as well as running PrtScrPress, a risograph print studio. He is also the curator of Loophole Supplements, an artist's edition series based around place and printed using the risograph. He also works in a call centre...

News:
I will be using this AA2A opportunity to form a project I've been wanting to do for over two years. The project is a situational street art project called Public Notice. The work will be developed into a risograph printed 'dossier' which will be sent out as a monthly digest/report to anyone who subscribes. The project will be ongoing, and open ended. Public Notice aims at becoming it's own ludic institution.
I aim to use the time up until Christmas to form a schedule for developing the works, as well as researching a range of initial sites, and thinking through the forms appropriate for each. The time after Christmas will then be for producing these works at PCA.
